The Business Need
- The client company was looking for a scalable and secure solution that would streamline the company’s inventory management, vendor management, order management, product catalogs, sales channels, and billing and invoicing operations.
- At the time, the company used to manage all of its data using multiple spreadsheets to keep the track of vendors, ingredients, supplies, costs, and stock sales. In order to record one transaction, they had to open multiple spreadsheets and update the information in each one. This would not only take a lot of time, but invariably delayed their business decisions. That practice obviously had to go for scalability and efficiency reasons.
The Approach
- A very cost-effective and accessible solution to automate inventory management, vendor management, order management, product catalogs, sales channels, and billing and invoicing operations was using a smart digital and cloud-based web app that provides all the features to track and manage the inventory as well as gives future sales insights.
- This web application would replace cumbersome Excel sheets and provide the company with a secure and scalable platform for managing and tracking inventory management-related tasks. Besides, the platform would also log the activity of the team members and provide details to the company’s management.
- Scalex not only made things easy by helping them organizing the data but also updated it in each of the relevant places once the transaction was recorded. This helped them to focus more on their business and customers instead of their record-keeping.
The Impact
- The new inventory management platform accounts for all the business operations that help to prevent out-of-stock sales, no matter the number of sales channels used. Furthermore, demand forecasting will help the business restock supplies in time by calculating reorder point levels and alerting them when it’s time to contact the suppliers to ship in some more stock.
